“ I love this place. Conan O’Brien told us to come here (on his podcast) and it didn’t disappoint. It’s small and you can’t reserve a table but I’ve never had to wait too long. Order the prearranged “trust me” setting of food. It’s worth it, the rice is perfectly fresh and warm, the fish is so fresh and tasty. The scallops are the best thing! Pair it with an Asahi or a sake and it’s wonderful. The only thing they could do is slow the pacing of the courses but then you’d probably wait longer for a table. Seriously love this spot. Highly recommend. But it’s just fish. There aren’t really any dishes with veggies/other protein etc. it’s purely fish (&related) sushi only. ”

“ If you’re planning on dining here in the evening, park across the street at Gowers Gulch for free. And if you come on week night, there’s hardly any wait to be seated. We always get the “Don’t think. Just eat.” and we’re always happy. Know that for beer, they serve Sapporo. If you’re allergic to shellfish, know that there’s lobster in the “Don’t think. Just eat.” that they’ll gladly switch out for you. Service is usually attentive. ”

“ Surprisingly great. Had no idea about this spot before a local recommended. No reservations available but we were able to get seated right away when arriving pretty early (6pm-ish on a Saturday). When we were leaving the place was packed! They had a tasting menu of sorts which I totally recommend. It can with a variety of pieces that cam beautifully presented and with all of the freshness. Tuna and salmon were on point. Hand rolls were just the right amount of warm to crunchy seaweed ratio. Staff were great. Never had a dirty plate in my way. Ambiance is unassuming but very clean and fits. Definitely try this spot out if you’re in LA. ”

“ Yet another excellent Sugarfish experience!! Surprised to see the place relatively quiet on a Saturday around 1pm but I was okay with that so that it wouldn't be too crazy. I definitely went overboard because I ordered so much more after the set menu and when I was full, but hey, YOLO because it's worth it for Sugarfish. My server was Jenny but I was also helped out by pretty much every staff and they were all super friendly and attentive. I went with the Don't Think, Just Eat to begin with and followed that with a few extra dishes. Everything was so fresh and delicious, the warm rice was perfect, the seaweed was always crispy, and the flavors were divine. Across the board, a few favorites were definitely the tuna cuts especially that toro tasting that sent me to the moon! The pink lobster was the most unique. The lobster hand roll was amazing. The crab cut roll was one of the best I've ever had. The sea bream with shiso was a blast of flavor. Seriously, nothing is ever wrong at Sugarfish. Oh and I got day time drunk with two bottles of Sugarfish Sake because it's so smooth. Happy to return! ”

“ I am not a fan of seafood so I ordered the edamame and cucumber roll. Those were the only options, but both delicious. Those that I was with ordered the Trust Me, and said it’s the best sushi they’ve ever had. They crave this place. Definitely recommend for those that love raw fish and I really wish they would have a few more options for those who don’t. ”

“ THE best sushi I've ever eaten! I'm not usually a fan of raw fish, but this was delicious. High quality fish with great flavor combinations made for a dinner we won't easily forget. The sake was also very good. For anyone who was told that it's a bit more expensive- I think the quality makes it worth every penny. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town. ”
